Edward D. Gibbs, President and CEO of Gib-San (right) is recognized as a leader in the international pool industry. Ed is both a Past President of the Pool and Hot Tub Council of Canada and Past Chairman of the Master Pools Guild, a global network of elite custom pool builders. In 2011 Ed was presented with the Industry Achievement Award by the Pool and Hot Tub Council of Canada.
To achieve Ed’s vision of leading performance in both product quality and management processes, Gib-San continually invests in employee training and world class operation systems. Gib-San was the first pool company in the world to achieve ISO Certifications in Quality Management Systems, Occupational Health and Safety, and Environmental Protection.
Peter Friis, (left) Chief Operating Officer (COO) has managed the Gib-San construction and service teams for over 20 years. He has been a major contributor to Gib-San’s high quality standards and growth.
Ed Gibbs Sr. founded Gib-San Pools over fifty years ago and became of one of the early leaders in the swimming pool and spa design/build and maintenance business in Toronto.
In addition to growing Gib-San he was a strong contributor to the swimming pool industry. He served as president of the Ontario Swimming Pool Association (OSPA) in 1968 and the Canadian Swimming Pool Association (CANSPA) in 1983.
Gibbs' son, Edward D. Gibbs, started working for the company in the early 1980s while attending high school and university. Ed ultimately joined the company full time and became the company’s president and CEO. Gibbs purchased the company from his father in 1993 after 15 years of learning the business from the ground up. “Gib-San started as a builder and as time moved on, we transformed into a builder, service, renovation, and retail company.”
